Count every run, termination, corner, and gate separately, then add the system-specific fasteners, footings, finishes, and access work.
Start with a marked layout
Draw property lines, fence runs, corners, ends, gates, slopes, and obstructions. Verify ownership and setbacks before treating the drawing as a buildable route.
Divide each straight run by actual panel width or allowed post spacing and round each run independently.
Complete the material system
List posts by type, panels or rails and pickets, gate frames, hinges, latches, caps, brackets, fasteners, concrete or approved footing material, gravel where specified, and finish coating. Gate and corner posts may differ from line posts.
Clear the preconstruction checks
Contact 811 before digging, follow the locate response, check private utilities, confirm permits and association rules, and plan disposal and access. Stop if field conditions conflict with the approved layout.
