Apply waste to measured area, divide by the exact carton coverage, and round up once at the end.
Use the carton label
Coverage per carton varies by product dimensions and package count. Divide the waste-adjusted order area by the printed carton coverage. A result of 12.1 cartons requires 13 cartons, not 12.
Do not mix net area and order area. Keep both values on the worksheet so bids and return quantities remain understandable.
Keep matching repair stock
Production runs, color lots, gloss, and texture can change. Set aside clearly labeled material from the original installation for future repairs. The right reserve depends on product availability and the likelihood of damage.
Confirm return and delivery rules
Ask whether unopened cartons are returnable, whether special orders carry restocking charges, and where delivery will be staged. Protect material from moisture and follow acclimation instructions for the selected system.
